Creative Well Being for Creative People by Shellharbour Libraries- Part 2

Today's working world in creative industry poses a unique set of challenges to maintaining our mental wellbeing; more than ever when we experience isolation, restriction and loss of community life in lockdown, and with uncertainties in our current times.

Part 1: Micro Practices in Mental Health -  Held on 14 October 2021

Participants who attend this session are encouraged to register for Part 2: Day-to-day Self Care + Creativity.

Description: Explore a universal tool, The Window of Tolerance, for checking in, noticing, and doing a personal mental health check. Learn how to develop a practice of tuning into physical and emotional responses that stop you from
getting on with your day.

Learn how a range of creative practices and habits can offset these experiences, and identify some micro practices you can bring into your day.

Experience a Creative Adventure with artist Sally Ann Conwell, through
imaginative play, drawing, storytelling.

Part 2: Day-to-Day Self Care + Creativity - Held on 21 October 2021

Participants who attend this session are encouraged to register for Part 1: Micro Practices in Mental Health.

Description: Following on from learning about the Window of Tolerance, dive into understanding what Self-Care really is, why it's non-negotiable, how to plan for it, and how it supports us being at our optimal state for work, creative output, parenting, relationships, life.

Experience a session on Mindful and Mindless Mark Making with Creative Journaler, jeweller and artist Mel Young

You will receive:
● An experienced program facilitator throughout the sessions
● Highly engaging creative facilitators to introduce creative practices
● Bespoke e-workbook for you to refer back to and use as a tool on
the road
● No materials will be provided for this, however you will be provided
with a list of suggested materials to gather.

Facilitated by Makeshift.

Supported by the Regional Arts Network including Kiama, Shellharbour, Wollongong and Wingecarribee Councils.
