Join us and learn how to turn discarded fragments of tiles into stunning functional art pieces for your home or garden—a pot or a paver that will breathe new life into your space.

In this hands on workshop, you’ll unlock the secrets of mosaic creation. Guided by our expert instructor Tinkerage coordinator, you’ll learn how to use mosaic techniques to bring your own unique designs to life. Embrace your artistic side as you arrange vibrant broken tiles into beautiful patterns.

Whether you’re an experienced mosaic artist or a complete beginner, this workshop is designed to accommodate all skill levels. The Tinkerage will provide step-by-step guidance, teaching you the fundamentals of mosaics. You’ll leave the workshop with newfound knowledge and the confidence to continue creating stunning mosaic.

Please note that the grouting process is an essential step in completing your mosaic masterpiece. To allow time for the adhesive to set, grouting will need to occur at a later date. However, during the workshop, we will demonstrate the grouting process, ensuring that you have a clear understanding of how to complete your project. You’ll have two options for grouting: you can either choose to DIY at home or return to The Tinkerage on a Thursday or Friday, where we’ll provide the space and guidance for you to complete the grouting process.

The Tinkerage is a reuse and repair space located inside Reviva Dunmore at Dunmore Recycling & Waste Disposal Depot. The Tinkerage and its workshops are made possible by the generous support of Shellharbour City Council and Resource Recovery Australia.

The Tinkerage is a safe and fun learning environment with a focus on reuse and repair skills. For safety reasons, The Tinkerage workshops are for 16 years and over or over 13 years if accompanied by an adult.

Tickets: The Tinkerage workshops are free for residents of the Shellharbour City Council local government area. A $40 participation fee applies for non-Shellharbour City Council residents, this is payable on the day of the workshop.
