Join in at the Lake for a free outdoor screening of some of the ‘best of’ entries from the Creative Wollongong Short Film Competition.

Bring a picnic blanket and your friends and family to enjoy a movie night out in one of the most scenic locations in the Illawarra. We’ll treat you to a jam-packed program of short films about water which have all been locally created here in the Illawarra.

Gates open at 5pm with a musical performance by up and comers Penny Church and Alara Livingstone.

The line up includes:

  • The ‘best of’ Creative Wollongong Short Film comp (we’re announcing the winners with $4,000 worth of prizes to give away!)
  • Commissioned films created in partnership with Screen Illawarra (Nicole Stoji), Careways Community, Bus Stop Films (Angela Blake) and Coequal (Phillip Crawford with Elias Rees)
  • New films by local filmmakers including – Iris Hulzinga, Shayan Murray, Chris Daw, Renee Brack, Duncan Ragg with Anna Phillips plus TAFE Illawarra film student Tamia Herrera – who were mentored by professional production companies including Sketchbook TV, Hello Future, Ten Alphas, Relativity Media and Eye Candy.

The Competition and Festival have been produced with the support of Screen Illawarra, NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, and Shellharbour Council.

Thank you to our ‘prize pool’ supporters: Australian TV & Radio School, Ten Alphas, Camera Hire and SF3, plus our celebrity judge – actor Michael Theo.

Food is available to purchase on site including OMG Donuts, Ken’s Cones (ice cream and fairy floss) and Dapto Rotary’s BBQ.
