Little Wing Puppets are on their way to Shellharbour, bringing with them their interactive environmental detective story ‘A Little Bit of Blue’. As well as unravelling a mystery, it involves learning about the unique habits of an extraordinary Australian creature, the bowerbird, and their fascination with the colour blue.

Puppetry of Paper – Workshop

Scrunch, rip, twist, tear! How many things can you do with a piece of paper?

This workshop is based on Bunraku-style puppetry, a traditional Japanese form of theatre which involves multiple puppeteers working closely together to operate one puppet.

In this workshop you will start by making a unique puppet out of paper. You will then learn techniques for bringing your puppet to life, either as individuals or as a team.

Each group will work on short performances which are presented to the group. You will leave the workshop with a range of performance skills, which can be applied to any kind of puppetry!

Maximum 20 participants (note: this does not include adults)

*Recommended for ages 3 years and up. Parents and carers are encouraged to participate. Children ages 6 years and under need to be accompanied by an adult
