One Day in Shellharbour
Arrive in the charming seaside village of Shellharbour and you’ll quickly see why it’s a favourite with visitors. Take a step back in time as you follow the Shellharbour Heritage Trail, then enjoy a leisurely walk along the harbour’s edge towards the ocean pool, named after Olympic swimmer Beverley Whitfield. Make time to browse the local boutiques for a little holiday shopping before settling in for coffee and cake at one of the many welcoming cafés.
Next, head west to the HARS Aviation Museum for a truly unique experience. Discover an impressive collection of historic aircraft, including the world record-breaking Boeing 747, where you can walk high along the wing. Get up close to iconic aircraft such as the F-111 fighter jet, on display for viewing and photos.
Just an 18-minute drive inland, nature awaits in Macquarie Pass National Park. Wander along bush trails, soak up the rainforest surrounds and, if you’re feeling adventurous, cool off with a refreshing dip beneath a waterfall.
Round out your day with dinner at one of the local restaurants, or enjoy an evening performance at the Roo Theatre for a touch of local culture and entertainment before continuing your journey!
