Macquarie Pass & Surrounds

The lush rainforests, tall eucalyptus trees, steep sandstone ridges, gullies and waterfalls is what you will discover in Macquarie Pass National Park.

The walking track at the foot of the pass leads you along the creek through lush rainforests to the Cascades Waterfall where the water plunges 20 meters in the pool at the bottom. This delightful easy walk is home to lyrebirds, platypus and goannas as well as native figs, lilly pillys and lianas. With lizards skittering about and birds flying around you will love this walk all year-round.

The Clover Hill Trail and old logging route begins half way up Macquarie Pass and leads to the top of Rainbow Falls and three smaller falls upstream on Macquarie Rivulet. As you walk through the dense forest suddenly the landscape opens up at Clover Hill where farmers cleared paddocks over a century ago to view over the escarpment.

The farmland surrounding Macquarie Pass National Park is predominantly used for dairy farming.
