Event Details

Join us as we celebrate this year’s National Threatened Species Day.

Amphibians, including frogs, are the most threatened vertebrate class on the planet.

Understanding the intricate love lives of frogs may help improve captive breeding success and bolster threatened populations.

The southern corroboree frog is one of Australia’s most iconic and imperilled frog species – with less than 50 adult frogs remaining in the wild.

However we know very little about the love lives of corroboree frogs… yet!

Dr Shannon Kelleher works for National Parks and Wildlife Service as a rewilding ecologist, helping to establish new feral-predator free reserves across NSW.

Shannon is an early career researcher who will share her findings from her time studying at the University of Wollongong in collaboration with Taronga.

We’ll be enthralled by Shannon’s animal behaviour knowledge and its application to amphibian conservation breeding programs for some of Australia’s most endangered frogs.

Nature Talks in the Library is targeted towards Adults and accompanied children from ages 10+.
